This ESP32 microcontroller board is only half the size of an SD card, but can handle almost every wireless standard for the smart home.
There are already quite a few controller boards for DIY smart home projects. But hardly any are as well-equipped and as small as this one: In fact, it is only 21 x 17.5 mm in size, but can handle 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5(LE) and the IEEE 802.15.4 standard required for Bluetooth Mesh, Thread and Zigbee. The small board also has eleven digital inputs/outputs and six analog connections, as well as a socket for an external antenna. The connections, some of which are used multiple times, are distributed over the two edges of the board and the underside of the board.

The onboard antenna is designed to provide a Bluetooth range of up to 80 m. I2C and UART are also on board. The ESP32-C6 contains two RISC-V processors clocked at 160 and 20 MHz respectively. They have 512 KByte SRAM and 4 MByte flash memory at their disposal. In deep sleep mode, the power consumption is said to be 15 microamperes.
Power is supplied via a USB-C socket or a lithium battery (not included). The solder connections for this are located on the underside of the board. The corresponding charging electronics are installed onboard.
