Netflix prices are increasing again in the USA – for the second time since early 2025. No price increase has been announced for Germany yet.

Netflix is once again adjusting prices in the USA: All subscription variants of the streaming service will get up to 2 US dollars pricier per month. Netflix informs customers about this on its support pages, among other places. No price increase is currently announced for Germany.

Previously, Netflix's US prices had already been increased in January 2025. Now they are rising again:

• The Standard subscription with ads costs 9 instead of 8 US dollars per month
• The Standard subscription without ads costs 20 instead of 18 US dollars per month
• The Premium subscription with 4K resolution and HDR costs 27 instead of 25 US dollars per month
• Additional members for subscriptions cost 7 US dollars instead of 6 US dollars per month

German prices have been in place for two years

In Germany, Netflix last increased prices two years ago. Since then, the following prices have applied here:

• The Standard subscription with ads costs 5 euros per month
• The Standard subscription without ads costs 14 euros per month
• The Premium subscription costs 20 euros per month
• Additional members cost 4 or 5 euros per month, depending on the basic subscription

Compared to the USA, prices in Germany are still relatively low because the last price increase was some time ago. It is currently unclear whether and when Netflix intends to further increase prices in Germany and Europe.

Netflix with 300 million subscribers

At the beginning of 2025, Netflix reported a major success: the US streaming service had cracked the 300 million user mark for the first time [1]. This was made possible by a record increase of 19 million new subscribers, which brought the streaming service increased revenue and profit. Nevertheless, Netflix announced a price increase for the US market at the time.

Netflix is getting a small financial boost from the failed Warner deal. Because Warner ultimately opted for Paramount instead of Netflix after a higher offer, Netflix is entitled to a break-up fee of 2.8 billion US dollars [2].
